Last Christmas, I gave you my heart, but this year… we gave Gymshark a Human Powered Christmas Tree.

  • Date: Wednesday 11th December, 2019
  • Location: Gymshark Lifting Club, Solihull, Birmingham

Last month, to bring the world of fitness some Christmas cheer, we decided to use our clean energy tech for festive good and to light up Christmas for the World’s favourite fitness brand:  Gymshark.

We invited each member of staff to undertake a 1 minute sprint on our Energy Generating Spin Bike in an effort to see how much power their workouts could create.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Gymshark readily accepted. We knew they can smash a black Friday, but how about a Watt Wednesday?

The rules:

  • 100 Gymshark Staff
  • 1 Minute Sprint Each
  • Energy Tracked and Recorded on a Live-Leaderboard
  • All Energy Was Used to Charge our Smart Battery Unit

The competition was on and the atmosphere was literally electrifying!

As you can see from the video above, the Gymshark team rose to the challenge, and dd not disappoint.

The results were impressive, power was measured by total watts generated as well as power density (Watts per Kilo) creating a fair metric to assess by.

In fact, Gymshark produced so much energy inside our battery, it was used to light up their 15ft Gymshark Christmas tree at their HQ.. keeping their Christmas lights twinkling into 2020. Quite literally, a Carbon Free Christmas Tree.

The employee average was 491Watt per Minute. Giving, all 400 Gymshark employees a power potential of 100kWh… enough renewable energy to power 14.3 entire houses per year!

Gymshark have thrown down the green gauntlet in the Energym arena, and we are now opening up The Human Power Challenge to other businesses around the country to do the same.

To see how much your company or Gym could save, use our calculator, or book a consultation with a member of our team.
